Meet The Team

  • Dr Mark Donohoe

    MB BS, FACNEM, FASLM.

Founding Doctor And Director. Past president of acnem

Dr Mark has worked in the field of ME/CFS for over 35 years, and is considered one of Australia’s leading practitioners in this area. He is currently President of the Australasian College of Nutritional & Environmental Medicine (acnem).

Dr Mark sees patients from around Australia and overseas with complex illnesses, including chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), fibromyalgia (FM), chemical toxicity and sensitivities (MCS) and chronic inflammation.

Treatment usually starts with non-drug therapies, including diet, exercise and lifestyle change, moving on to specific, individualized therapeutic needs of each patient. His preference is for employing very specific non drug therapies to restore capacity and balance, and to achieve long-term, sustainable recovery.

  • Sophie Thelosen

    Clinical Nutritionist (ATMS)

Sophie is a Clinical Nutritionist registered with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS), with a special interest in complex, persistent and difficult-to-diagnose presentations. She works as part of the integrative team alongside Dr Mark Donohoe and Dr Isobel Marr.

Sophie takes a clinical, investigative approach — focused on understanding what is actually driving symptoms, rather than applying standard protocols. Her work is particularly well suited to patients who have tried multiple approaches with limited success, or whose symptoms don't fit neatly into a single diagnosis.

    Areas of Focus

    • Gut health, microbiome analysis, IBS and SIBO

    • Food, chemical and biochemical intolerances, including histamine and oxalate sensitivity

    • Chronic fatigue, low resilience and post-viral illness, including Long COVID and POTS

    • Difficulty tolerating supplements or medications

    • Blood sugar regulation, autoimmune and metabolic health

    Her Approach

Sophie prioritises careful clinical reasoning and personalised planning over one-size-fits-all solutions. A key part of her work is helping patients simplify what they are already doing, understand what is relevant for their body, and focus on what will make the most meaningful difference.

Dr Isobel Marr is a GP trained in Biomedicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with an interest in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease. She is a member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) and the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).

Her treatment approach typically includes adjustments to diet and lifestyle, accompanied by supplementation, herbal formulas, and/or pharmaceuticals depending on individual patient needs and preferences.

Dr Isobel is interested in all areas of general medicine and has a particular interest in women’s health, fertility, fatigue conditions, digestive issues and chronic pain and inflammation.

  • Mr Digby

    Resident Pooch

Mr Digby, our much-loved Maltese Cavalier poodle, was an important part of our patient care at MIM, and delighted, calmed and supported many a patient over his fifteen years of "work" with us.

Sadly, he passed away in 2025, but his spirit lives on with us here at MIM, and we miss him greatly.

Mr Digby made a name for himself chasing ducks on YouTube a while back. Over a million people have viewed the video on YouTube and Facebook, and it can be watched by clicking here
