Mea culpa and a new way to meet your needs at MIM

Hi all. This is just a brief blog posting let you know that we have a new facility on the website to streamline things that I need to do for my patients. COVID-19 has been a bit overwhelming for me, both in terms of patient requests regarding virus and the additional work of blogs and podcast to keep as many of you up-to-date as possible. As well, video consultations are, for many reasons, more draining and exhausting compared to normal face-to-face. I have blogged on this previously.

I want to keep doing this, but I am realising that under the current pressure of the new technologies such as video telehealth and some obligations I have for education of other healthcare practitioners, I have been letting a number of my patients down by failing to complete some of the scripts and documents promised in the consultations. On other occasions some documents are completed while some are not and never reach you.

We are making an effort to address this by creating a brand-new contact form on this website, “Request". Rather than phoning repeatedly and sometimes unsuccessfully, information you put on this form regarding prescriptions, letters, referrals and forms will be emailed directly to our practice, and will be actioned as quickly as possible.

New work, such as repeat prescriptions or letters not agreed to in the consultation, will be billed at our usual rates. But for consultations for which you have already been billed (where agreed paperwork was not completed), this paperwork will be at no charge.

If you have requests, I suggest you try the new form and give us feedback about whether this works better for you.
